RESIDENTIAL CARE PRACTITIONERS
Description of Role: The Practitioners will be assisting the children/young people with their daily routines, dealing with any problems or personal care needs they may have, follow safeguarding procedures, liaise with other staff, adhering to agreed care plans while maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment where children can thrive and develop independence;
- Promote and celebrate diversity;
- Safeguard all children and young people and support them with their individual and personal needs;
- Write children and young people’s daily logs, reports, details of incidents etc.;
- Work confidentially and closely with other professional bodies;
- Ensure young people are supported to the highest of standards, ensuring high levels of emotional and physical support are provided;
- Planning appropriate activities and maintaining young people’s hobbies;
- Key-work with children and young people;
- Promoting working in partnership with young people, their families, other Cherry Blossom staff and other agencies, in order to meet the needs of young people;
- Work towards the aims and objectives of Cherry Blossom Home;
- Promote effective team working;
- Follow all of Cherry Blossom policies and procedures;
- Ensuring a communication pathway to and from other staff members;
- Ensuring Health and Safety Regulations are complied with in accordance with Cherry Blossom’s policies, procedures and practices;
- Ensuring that you understand and implement Cherry Blossom’s Child Protection Procedures;
- Be willing to work towards completing training and relevant qualifications for this role;
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned, and;
- Be highly motivated and conscientious, enabling independent decision making and risk assessment, often while working under pressure and supporting your colleagues.
General Information:
Supervision and Appraisal – All members of staff will receive regular supervisions and annual appraisals and it is the responsibility of each staff member to follow the company’s procedure in respect of supervision and appraisal.
